SHARE – Resources, Organisation, and Knowledge

Wonderful Copenhagen shares a building with Copenhagen Capacity, Greater Copenhagen, String, and other organisations based in Copenhagen. This creates both professional synergies and administrative savings, the latter through shared and efficient back-office functions.

In SHARE, we are responsible for ensuring a common, efficient operation across several organisations, including finance, HR, and internal services. Across Wonderful Copenhagen, we are also responsible for producing and disseminating new knowledge and data as a basis for tourism efforts and destination development. We are also responsible for business development with the aim of developing new value propositions for the destination’s stakeholders.

We do this through:

Finance, Resources, and IT: In SHARE, we manage finance, IT, HR, and the practical frameworks for all organisations and employees in our shared House of Greater Copenhagen. We prepare annual accounts, personnel policies, and much more. We manage Wonderful Copenhagen’s finances, including projects and networks. With our responsibility for IT and internal services, we ensure that our colleagues can function effectively in a busy everyday life.

Production and Dissemination of New Knowledge and Data: Wonderful Copenhagen’s work is based on a solid knowledge foundation of the latest knowledge and the newest international trends. In SHARE, we create a strong knowledge base for tourism efforts and destination development. We share this knowledge with industry stakeholders via our knowledge centre and dashboard on the website, where stakeholders can access the latest figures on developments in overnight stays, revenue and employment, segments, markets, citizen support, sustainable transformation and certifications, international competitive conditions, and much more. We are also responsible for the capital’s part of the national tourism data platform, VisitData. We collaborate and share knowledge with other Danish tourism organisations and international analysis agencies, databases, and, not least, with other major city destinations in Europe.

Business Development and New Value Propositions for Industry Stakeholders: Here, we work on developing new value propositions for industry stakeholders and developing new partnerships that can be part of future tourism and destination development. We also work on creating new collaborations across the industry – for example, between established tourism companies and new startups with a focus on increasing entrepreneurship and innovation in tourism. And we also develop the way we work. We do this both through project optimisation and the implementation of new digital tools across the organisation – including AI. This is also where we coordinate strategy implementation across Wonderful Copenhagen’s efforts.
